This digital exhibit shows some of the key piece in the Civil War Collection at Special Collections & College Archives in Musselman Library at Gettysburg College. The items cover a wide range of different units that fought during the Civil War and personal soldier manuscripts that they wrote about their experience. The exhibit covers the common soldier and how their experience showed them the true nature of war but also comradeship in the ranks. Some of the sections cover some of the rare and interesting items in the collection. We encourage you to come visit Special Collections to view the rest of the collections since most of the items did not make the cut onto the site.
